What we collect
When you create a web account, we store your email address and a salted hash of your password. When you subscribe, Stripe sends us a customer ID and a subscription status (trialing, active, canceled). We log a one-way hash of your IP address for rate-limiting — never the raw IP.
Identity data
Ms. Number displays publicly available metadata about phone numbers — carrier, line type, and region. We do not display names, addresses, or personally identifying information in the public preview. Subscribers may see additional context sourced from community reports.
Data sources
Phone number metadata is sourced from carrier databases and community-submitted reports. We do not purchase data broker lists or incorporate scraped personal data. Community reports are voluntarily submitted by users and moderated before publication.
Data retention
Account information is retained for as long as your account is active plus 90 days after deletion. Rate-limiting log hashes are retained for 30 days. On account deletion we will delete or anonymize your data within 45 days.
Minors
Ms. Number is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted information to us, please contact privacy@msnumber.app and we will delete it promptly.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe gives us only a customer ID and the current subscription state. Stripe's privacy policy applies to anything you give them.
AI
We do not use AI anywhere in this product. Moderation is a regex blocklist plus rate limits plus a human review queue. Your comments are never sent to a third-party AI provider.
California privacy rights
California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise your rights, visit our opt-out page or email privacy@msnumber.app.
Other state privacy rights
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights similar to those listed in the California section — including rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out. To submit a request, visit our opt-out page or email privacy@msnumber.app.
International transfers
Ms. Number is operated from the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on standard contractual clauses and other lawful mechanisms for transfers from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland.
Your rights
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account page. EU and UK residents can email us at privacy@msnumber.app for a full export or deletion under GDPR Art. 15 / Art. 17.
